The Grand Finale

This is my last post on this blog because the class is finished, and I know longer have to do the blogs under this assignment. It’s been a fun semester talking about my life and what I see through my eyes, but it is time to move on the other things. Next semester I will be prepping for graduation, prepping for graduate school, and preparing for the rest of my life. If anyone has even read this thing thank you for following along because my life can be pretty boring sometimes. Again, goodbye from this blog and have a wonderful life.

Christmas… With Friends!

Last night my friends and I decided to have a spontaneous Christmas party (we kind of just hung out and ate food) at one of their houses. We decided to make cheese dip and salsa, cookies, ice cream, and white chocolate covered popcorn. We ate delicious food, had a bunch of laughs while eating and studying, and then we watched a movie. The movie we settled on was the classic “Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?“. The movie was super good (I have probably watched it 20 times)  and everyone had a good time watching the movie. Overall, it was a super chill night to start off finals week.

Sorely Mistaken

I thought that there were only 45 blogs required for this class, but apparently we actually have 48 blogs for this class. I do not know how I mixed this number up, but I did and now I have to make up for it. Honestly, I am usually not this forgetful and am pretty good at knowing what needs to be done in order to finish an assignment. I guess it could have been stress, worrying, or just plain forgetting what the heck I was doing. It’s no worries though because I can just get right back on track and finish out the semester strong.

A Great Way to End the Semester

So a few days ago, I was honored with receiving one of the highest awards a student at Arkansas Tech can achieve. It’s called the Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges, and what it is is a group of students who apply for this honor based off of community involvement and academic record. It shows that a student has dedicated their college career dedicating their life to making sure that they are being a positive influence on everyone around them. It has been a culmination of four years of working my butt off to make sure that I could succeed with the goals that I set for myself. I am grateful for this award because it has been four years in the making.

Brothers For Life

In my family I was the youngest sibling for 16 years, and then my little brother came along. At first, I was a little bit jealous because I thought that I was always going to be the youngest, but now I love my little brother to death. When I am at home we are practically inseparable because he is trying to emulate everything that I am doing. He wants to be like me when he grows up so badly, and I think it is the cutest thing ever.  He is my favorite little kid, and I wouldn’t trade him for the world.

Snapchat Memes

I love using the app Snapchat to take funny photos of my friends in real life. I take photos of them when they are not paying attention and I add a funny caption to them. Most of the time I send the pictures to them, and they always seem to get a kick out of them. I would like be able to get more creative with my Snapchats and get a wider following. I think it is a good way to blow off steam and have fun with your friends. It is really fun when everyone is doing it and just having a great time.

The End of Semester is Nigh

The end of the semester is almost upon the students at Tech, and I for one am super excited to get a little bit of a break before having to go into my last semester. The end of semester means finals week, telling your friends bye before they go back home for a month (I have to stay here and work), Christmas, New Years, and gearing up for another semester of school. It’s an exciting time for students, but it is also a sad one as well. I have to stay in Russellville this year because I have to work quite a bit over the holidays, so hopefully some of my friends stay up here so I can have somebody to hangout with.

Recently, I traveled to my house to pick up some pants that I had ordered online for Black Friday. I drove all the way there by myself, and when I got home I was the only one home because my family was gone. I just sat on my front porch a little bit just looking over the horizon and seeing nothing as far as the eye could see. It made me appreciate the beauty that I was surrounded by my whole life since I spent my entire life at that house. It also made me realize that I won’t be able to drive to my childhood home whenever I want to for my whole life. Someday, it will be gone and nothing left will stand of what once was. Which is depressing, but I will always remember the memories I had there.

Class, Class, Class Part 2

So the class that I am writing these blogs for is called Introduction to Multimedia and it is a required class for all journalism majors at Arkansas Tech  regardless if your print, broadcast, or public relations. I think that the class is a great transition into the major to know what you are getting yourself into. I, on the other hand, am a special case because I am a senior taking this course because I had put it off until now. I was trying to finish up another major, but I eventually got to it this semester. I enjoy it a lot, and I am glad the semester is over.

Raindrops Falling on my Window

I love having lazy days where I just get to lay in my bed on a Saturday and do absolutely nothing. Most of the time I just sleep or read, and I do not even have to leave my house for anything. Most of the days that I choose to partake in this activity are days where it is raining, cold, and dreary. It has not rained much in Arkansas the past couple of months, and when the opportunity presented itself I definitely took it. I just stared out my window and watched the rain, and then I fell back asleep. I did that off and on throughout the day.
